Our story
Ruggieri & Co. began as a family firm built on a simple idea: put your name on your work and stand behind it. Years of evaluating contractors, quotes and finished jobs taught us one transferable discipline — a rigorous, written method for separating what's promised from what's actually delivered. We've brought that same method to a market that badly needs it: the gambling sites Californians can actually access. The vertical changed; the standard didn't. Every operator we cover is tested against the same published checklist, the people doing the testing are named on this site, and our affiliate relationships are disclosed in full.
Why this desk exists
California is the most populous state in the country, yet it has no legal, state-licensed online casino or sportsbook. That gap leaves players researching offshore sites with no regulator to vet them. We do that vetting independently — telling you plainly what is and isn't legal, and ranking the operators that accept California players on the things that actually matter: whether they pay, how fast, and on what terms.
What we cover
We maintain two core guides: the best gambling sites in California (online casinos) and California sports betting. Each is re-tested quarterly by a named analyst — see our team.
How we stay independent
This desk is ad-supported. When you sign up through one of our links we may earn a commission, which is how we fund the testing. That commission never buys a higher rating — our order is set by the fixed checklist on our How We Rate page, and we move operators down when their payout record slips. We say so clearly wherever a link is an affiliate link.
A word on the law
We are not lawyers and nothing on this site is legal advice. The operators we list are offshore and not regulated by California. We explain that trade-off honestly so you can make an informed choice. You must be 21 or older to gamble.
